Cisco/CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) - 1050 hours

The Cisco Networking Academy offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills in configuring, administering, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN infrastructures.  The program prepares students to take the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Comp TIA Network+ certification exams. It is designed to help students gain employment as a Computer Support Assistant, Network Support Assistant, Network Administrator, Wireless Network Administrator and Data Communications Analyst. Computer Systems Technology - 900 hours

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment as Computer Systems Technicians, Electrical and Electronic Technicians, Data Processing Equipment Repair, and Electrical and Electronic Equipment Repair Technicians.

This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills that prepares students for employment in the Computer/Electronic fields. The course content includes direct current (DC) circuits, alternating current (AC) circuits analog circuits; solid state and digital devices; microprocessor; use of circuit diagrams and schematics; soldering and chassis assembly techniques; laboratory practices; technical recording and reporting.

The course also includes essential information about computer hardware, hands on computer assembling and disassembling; common computer maintenance and safety procedures; the installation of various operating systems and other essential software programs; integration of internet usage and protocols; as well as introduction to networking using routers, ethernets, WAN, LANs and wireless technologies; and discussions on protection from spy ware and the latest viruses.

The student will receive preparation for the A+ and Net+ Certifications. Upon completion of the Computer Systems Technology program, 27 semester hours of credit can be transferred to BCC’s Industrial Management program.

 

 Game/Simulation/Animation Visual Design - 600 hours

The content includes but is not limited to practical experience in game/simulation conceptualization,design, storyboarding, development methodologies, 2D/3D animation design and production, and implementation issues. Specialized skills involving graphic animation software are used to produce a variety of two and three-dimensional components.

 

Network Systems Administration - 1050 hours

The Network Systems Administration program prepares students for employment as a Network Administrator, Network Support Help Desk Service Provider, Network Support Specialist, or Network Technologist. This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare students for employment in a network support services position. This program prepares students for A+, Network +, and MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) certification exams.

 

Web Design Services - 1050 hours

The Web Design Services program is designed to prepare students for employment as an HTML Coder, Web Graphic Designer, or Web Producer. This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare students for employment in web design service positions. The content includes web page design using Dreamweaver, Flash, HTML, Java Script, ColdFusion and Photoshop. The program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following elements of web design: planning, management, technical and production skills.
