Solar Photovoltaic System Design, Installation and Maintenance

 (Entry Level)

This program offers basic solar photovoltaic / electrical energy instruction and skills to provide a career path as an entry level installer. It will provide you with the knowledge of the local and national codes. You will get the experience you need in our Energy Lab with hands on wiring of a complete system.

  • Solar Photovoltaic Design, Installation and Maintenance Helper.
  • Solar Photovoltaic Design, Installation and Maintenance Technician.

At the completion of the course you will have knowledge in electrical safety, system components, different types of alternate energy, read basic blueprints, job specifications, perform a system checkout, layout and coordinate a residential job, a/c and d/c wiring, system sizing, and load calculations using ohms law.

Broward County Solar Photovoltaic Journeyman License: Upon completion of the course you are encouraged to apply to take the Broward County Solar Photovoltaic Journeyman License Exam.

Approximate starting salary is $15 an hour (The electrical industry offers a wide range of opportunities, individual skill level, personality, and good work ethics will help determine salary levels)

Estimated Program Costs: $1,700

600 course hours (Monday – Friday 7:00AM to 1:45PM)
