Business Supervision and Management - 900 hours:

The Business Supervision and Management program is designed to prepare students for employment as an Information Technology Assistant, Supervisor/Manager Trainee, and Supervisor and to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in any of these positions.

The Business Supervision and Management program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills expanding the traditional role of the Supervisor.

The content includes:

• Communications skills
• Forms of business ownership and organizational structures
• Supervisory/management functions and skills
• Business law concepts
• Leadership skills
• Business ethics
• Cultural diversity
• Insurance awareness
• Governmental regulations
• Human resources management issues
• Career development
• Internet exercises
• Business Plan
• Portfolio

PowerPoint slides and teacher-directed eLearning activities assist Business Supervision and Management students in understanding the real-world challenges of decision making in today’s business market.

This Business Supervision and Management program also focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the business supervision industry: planning; management; finance; technical and production skills; underling principles of technology; labor issues; community issues; and health, safety, environmental issues, bookkeeping, business computer applications that prepare students for MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) certification exams, keyboarding skills, office technology, and employability skills. Program length may vary based upon a student’s ability and prior knowledge.

This program is taught in an online  format.
